Heart of the High Country is a locally rooted brand founded by someone born and raised in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina. The business curates provision boxes filled with coffee, teas, and goods from local makers, delivered to Airbnbs, hotels, and restaurants to welcome visitors and introduce them to the area. The vision is simple: a brand that feels like a genuine connection to the people, places, and heritage of the high country, never touristy, never mass produced, always like home.
THE CHALLENGE
The brand needed a mark that could carry the weight of a place. Something refined and quiet that echoed the feeling of looking out over the Blue Ridge, those soft layered ridgelines rolling into the distance, understated and still. The brief was specific: minimal line work, no gradients, no badge shapes, clean serif typography, and nothing that felt sharp, western, or mass produced. It needed to feel like it belonged there.
THE SOLUTION
We built a logo suite centered on a minimal mountain mark, two or three soft layered ridgelines with subtle variation in stroke weight, borderless and calm. Paired with elegant serif typography, the full logo, wordmark, and circular seal each serve a different application while staying completely consistent in feeling. The embossed cardboard mockup shows exactly how it was always meant to live in the world, pressed quietly into natural packaging, no background, just the mark. Simple, timeless, and exactly right.
